Susan Kaur Uppal, MBACP
My passion for helping others is the reason I became a counsellor.
I have been registered with BACP since 2014 and have worked within the NHS as a children’s mental health practitioner and an adults mental health therapist. I also have experience working with children and adults with ASD and ADHD.
I can use a range of different therapies in our sessions, such as person-centred therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and psychodynamic therapy.
Using creative therapies can help individuals who find it hard to talk and make sense of their feelings and emotions. Therefore I can also use a blend of art therapy with mindfulness, singing and dancing therapy and CBT balloon therapy. These therapies can help you understand your deeper feelings, build confidence and manage anger and anxiety.
My special interests are working with children and adults with neurological conditions such as Autism, Asperger’s, ADHD, ADD, Dyslexia etc.
I can provide QB testing for ADHD and help completing relevant paperwork. I use ADOS 2 to assess for Autism, but cannot provide an official diagnosis.
